We've been helping people to look, move and feel better better for years, and despite helping a lot of people achieve their goals, unfortunately we've also seen a few fail along the way 🙁.
Having witnessed both success and failure, we're very aware of the habits needed to succeed and of the the common pitfalls that, despite the best intentions, often lead to failure.
One we often see, when people first start a new fitness program, is that they often make too big, or too many making changes to their lifestyle all at once.
They go from being inactive for months, or even years, to working out 6 days a week. They go from a diet made up of fast food, alcohol and fizzy drinks to eating badly to eating nothing but greens, wild-sourced fish and whole grains (no sweets, no alcohol, no red meat, no carbs etc.)
Sadly, in our experience, most people who do it this way tend to fail, or perhaps more accurately, stop before they get a chance to enjoy any success.
At Polaris Fitness, we believe that there's a better way! We call it THE 1% RULE.
Instead of trying to be 'perfect', just be 1% better than you were yesterday. Move a little more. Eat a little better. Stress a little less. Sleep a little more. Drink a little more water. Eat a little more veg. Make slightly better food choices when eating out. etc
The list goes on. But in our experience, if you strive to just be a little better every day, these small changes accumulate into MASSIVE, long-term success.
Remember, there is no perfect workout or perfect diet. There are no magic pills. You will not find the perfect plan on Instagram. There is only YOU and the circumstances of YOUR LIFE as it is TODAY.
And if you want to make it a lot better, you have to start small by making each meal, each workout, each night of sleep just 1% better.
And we truly believe that if you do that MOST days, you will reach your goals.
Achieving the best version of your health and fitness is really just an accumulation of small decisions and simple strategies that you practice over time.
Don't try to be perfect. Just try to be a little better. And as always, if you'd like a little help or advice, please don't hesitate to reach out 🙋♀️.
